Commoners v Lingers
It’s 1st v 3rd tomorrow afternoon, Little Common can clinch the title, whilst Lingfield can clinch promotion!
After a hard fought season for both sides, it can boil down to games like this.. firstly the hosts, Little Common, have been runaway leaders for a large duration of this season. They boast the best goal difference, as well as the most disciplined defensive record. After an impressive 4-0 Semi-Final win against Langney, they come into this one with form and motive. They’ll also be looking to the likes of Lewis Hole, Jamie Crone and Wes Tate to be the difference in this fixture. With the prospect of the double, Common have but one stone unturned this year... Lingfield!
Lingfield are the only team Common haven’t beaten in the league this year, also suffering their heaviest defeat of the season (6-0). We travel into this game with similar form, the dispatching of Bexhill recently has put us within a point of promotion. We still have an opportunity to gain a 2nd place with results going our way on the run in, however, this the biggest of the lot. A chance to get a double over possibly the eventual league champions is the incentive for us. Despite our away form across the season being our downfall to a title challenge, we’ll be looking to bring our very best. With Ben Connolly, Chris Ransome, and Nick Dembele firing now, it proves to have goals in this game. Wedged between us, Langney travels to Oakwood to continue their last-gasp title challenge who will host Little Common next weekend.
