Redhill FC are pleased to confirm the appointment of Perry Gough as First Team Manager.
Perry joins The Lobsters from Conference side Woking and brings a wealth of experience to Kiln Brow having spent the past 25 years working with elite Youth and Senior squads across the region.
“We got a lot of interest in this vacancy right from the off and were in the happy position of being able to draw up a very impressive short-list for interview” commented Vice Chairman Dave Ainsley. “This then gave us quite a challenge as they all had a lot to offer the club in many ways…its been very competitive indeed”.
Director of Football Nigel Abbott clarified what the club’s criteria were in selecting a new manager: “We took time out recently to assess our performance across the board and how we could go about shaping squads that were significantly more competitive, more consistent, and more confident. We sought out candidates who had solid coaching credentials, had experienced success with multiple clubs and age groups in recent years, and who had ambitions that matched our own. Perry stood out in this regard and I am delighted he has agreed to come on board to help shape our future”.
With his playing career cut short following knee injury, Perry started his coaching career with Walton & Hersham’s under 18 squad in the early 90’s. Since then he has coached youth, academy, u-21, reserves and first team sides across the region, and gained promotion with Merstham (to Ryman South) He later moved to Leatherhead for a period. He has recently been working with the First Team squad at Woking FC as well as the Academy side, now Ryman Youth Champions.
“I’m up for the management challenge here at Redhill” said Gough “and I wouldn’t have come on board if I didn’t think I could blend a team of lads here that will bring pride back to the club.”
