Lingfield u15s started the season as a new team after manager Bobby Bryce decided to step down from the u18s.

The creation of this team now means there is a full compliment of Lingfield youth sides from u5 - u16.

The season's start saw them struggle in their four friendlies and opening cup game but their work ethic at training and their desire to learn and improve meant that thankfully we found a system for the boys, and with a few of them in new positions we started to click.

Special mentions must go to Bailey King (56 goals) and Fin Woods (35 goals) who were Horsham League's u15s two top goals scorers. Ross Muddell was an outfield player who agreed to play in goal for the first league game of the season and he has been far and away our best keeper. I could go on about many of our other boys but all of them have seriously improved. Three in particular, Sam Goodbody, Matt Morris and James Coker, who were struggling to make the squad have improved no end. As a coach it is easy to say its about the weaker ones improving as well as the good ones, but trying and wanting to make it happen, and then strongly challenging them personally all to make it happen is not easy, but I take my hat off to them all.

Fin Woods has also been accepted into Brighton Academy and last but certainly not least is Reece Bailey, aged just 14 who is playing a year up for us, is a boy, whose desire to work back fast, tackle and head the ball strongly is amazing for such a small and young player. His skill on the ball is a total gift that can't be coached and his ability can and should be directed carefully to make him a big name in football.

As a new team Lingfield u15s were put into the 'D' league but incredibly won every league game, they played 14 and won 14 scoring 120 goals conceding just 13. The team are also in the Horsham League Plate Final on Sunday 26-4-15, versus Div A runners up East Grinstead Meads Inter.

I would personally like to thank all my boys and their parents for all their efforts, and lastly to wish Dave Dean all the best after serving 5 years as our 1st team manager. Finally huge thanks to C.C.S Air Conditioning MD Adam Stevens, our u15s sponsor, and good luck also to our u14 and 16s who contest finals as well as us this weekend. Three cup finalists and a league champions title in a season is certainly something to be very proud of at any youth set up.
