We looked strong straight out of the gate and it wasn’t long before Brennan Kiernan headed in a Matt Warren cross to put us one up. We remained strong at the back as well as proving a threat up front whilst Epsom seemed to be wasting their chances.
A miskick from their keeper presented us with another chance but it couldn’t be taken as we won a penalty instead. Kiernan stepped up and slotted it top left to double our lead and grab himself a brace.
We were playing at the peak of our game and it showed once more just minutes later, when a rebounded shot fell to Brennan Kiernan to complete his hat-trick. After halftime we remained the dominant force, a goal-line clearance by Abraham Udofia enough to prevent Epsom & Ewell from getting back in the game. Harry Sintim was making some particularly dangerous runs and they paid off for him as Matthew Warren set him up on the counter to make it 4-0.
We continued to dominate, bringing on Kane Wilson for Simon Wallace, Shaun Johnson for Marco Mwanza and Curtly Shallow for hat-trick hero Brennan Kiernan. We seemed content to sit back and defend our lead but when they grabbed one back from a long ranged chip courtesy of Taylor Smith, we launched into the attack once again.
Another penalty was awarded our way in the dying moments of the game, and Alfie Dean stepped up and put it bottom left to secure us a 5-1 victory and cap off what was arguably one of our finest performances of the season.
