After Saturday's defeat to Hassocks which saw The Lingers leave the Peter Bentley Cup early today was a fixture that was going to prove challenging which required The Lingers to pick themselves up are conceding 5 goals.
The Lingers made the early and wet trip down to Haywards Heath to put Saturday's result behind and to continue with their league campaign against a strong Haywards Heath team who had played 3 games and picked up 6pts.
Today started off as where we left it on Saturday with conceding 2 early goals in quick concession which left us shell shocked and fighting to hold on to the ball and play football it wasn't long before we took our chances through Matthew Burroughs who pull a goal back which was created by TJ who delivered a perfectly weighted ball from the left hand side to find a packed box to find Mat who buried the ball into the back of the net.
The rest of the fixture was a roller of emotions with decisions going against us along with a handful of goals that put any chance of pulling even a point back was truly taken out of our hands.
