The first 20 minutes was probably the poorest section of any game this season, in which Langney hit The Lingers on the break on two occasions and finished smartly. A few tactical changes at half time and an attack spear-headed by a red-hot Sam Bell saw a completely different second half. The comeback was initiated when Bell curled a 20 yard strike into the top corner after Matt Burroughs had laid it off. The 2nd goal saw Jake Horn release Dan Frith down the left who squared for Kieran Curtis to finish off. The comeback was complete when some neat inter-play in the box saw Kieran Curtis feed Sam Bell who fired across the keeper, 3-2. Langney could not stem the tide and it 4-2 when Jake Horn hit a speculative effort from 20 yard which the keeper palmed into his own net. The 5th goal would see Sam Bell complete his hat-trick, intercepting a questionable pass-back from the Langney defender, Bell made no mistake.
A huge sigh of relief rang around The Lair as a fantastic second half meant The Lingers managed to avoid dropping valuable points - a tale of two halves!
