Within the first 15-20mins Selsey had Lingfield on the back foot with high pressure and a few chances that they couldn't take advantage of.
On the 27minute, After one of the many late challenges from the home side left Brett Caiger down and receiving treatment, Lingfield's management pulled the boys in and this proved to give us a kick to push on and do the right things. A ball was played through by TJ Stead to Brett Caiger a rocket of a strike put Lingfield ahead. 1-0
2 minutes later the away side struck again. This time the goal scorer turned provider for Sam Bell his strike partner to double the lead. The rest of the half was very even with no more real clear cut chances and the sides went in to the half at 2-0.
The injured Matt Burroughs was replaced at half time by Louis Fox. Shortly after the break Lingfield made it 3-0 after a ball through the middle of the park set Sam Bell away again which he lobbed over the keeper with a nice touch to increase the Lingers lead further. But within a couple of minutes the Selsey forward found himself played clear on the edge of the six yard box for an easy finish - 3-1.
Selsey tried to push on for another but wasn't able to break through the midfield or defence of Lingfield again and it was Lingfield that would get the next goal. This time it was the sub Louis Fox to put through Sam Bell again who calmly smashed it home for his 2nd hattrick of the season.
2 more subs were made by Lingfield on 76 minutes which saw Matt Gates & Brett Caiger coming off for Charlie Naylor & Aaron Stead and within minutes this proved to make an impact with Aaron Stead setting away Sam Bell for another which was denied by the keeper. TJ Stead then found himself through on goal, checking over his should for the lino's flag which stayed down, under pressure from the defender he easily wrong footed the keeper and slotted home for Lingfield's 5th and final goal of the day.
After a difficult start to the game the away side ended up with a comfortable win and a good 3 points to see themselves into a weeks break.
