Today, a warm welcome to Steyning and any travelling fans on their part; and of course a massive welcome to all Lingers supporters. A high end clash this afternoon as 4th take on 6th in what both sides will be considering as a potential promotion year! After a below par start for the Lingers, a return to the Lair has seen 3 wins from 3 at home of late, and will be looking to continue with that momentum; while Steyning, after a few cup games in between, have also won their last 3 in the league and will be looking for maximum points. Steyning a slightly superior league record standing 4-0-2 (W-D-L) and with 2 games in hand on the Lingers, can go past us. However a win for Lingfield would push us 4pts away from today's opposition and they'd have to go find those points elsewhere; therefore already this early in the season, a massive 3Pts up for grabs! The Top 3 sides of the division currently only dropped 2 points each meaning no margin for any error at this stage in the season to fall further behind those golden promotion spots. Even though we're only just through September, both sides have a potential golden boot contender as our Richard Wetton (10 Goals), and their Ben Bacon (7 Goals) will be seeking more as they try to help their side to a win today
