The Lingers travel the short trip south to local rivals Oakwood. After a Christmas postponement.

The two sides meet for the first time in the league this season, however, we have taken on our neighbours in the Peter Bentley cup back in August which saw us come away with a 6-2 Away victory; Wetton scoring inside 5 seconds and Connolly bagging himself a hat-trick. Since then, in the league, Oakwood sit 2nd bottom, 1 point adrift from Billingshurst having played a game more. Nevertheless, they come into this game on the back of an impressive away 2-0 win at Selsey and will be looking to bring that form back to Tinsley Lane, Spearheaded by Chris Neatherway who has brought 3 goals in his last 4 since the turn of the year. After many games on the weekend were postponed, we remain 3rd with a 5 point cushion of Wick in our promotion spot. A much-needed game for Lingfield to maintain momentum and keep pushing towards an SCFL Prem spot next year. Likelihood of goals with 8 in the previous meeting, and 29 goals in both teams fixtures since the New Year. Both sides with very different motives for maximum points tomorrow night sets up for a typical derby night. In regards to Team News, we have returning Scott ‘Twiggy’ Johnston who’s had enough of the St. Lucia lifestyle. As well as no current suspensions or injuries to note, it could be a full available selection for management to choose from... a luxury they haven’t seen for a while. Hoping all supporting Lingers are there in full voice.

Up The Lingers
